let's just say they are tasty...here is the recipe
hey hey ivy! i think you should get these cause then you could EAT squirrels!!!!!
copper says, "is she coming home with me? i sure hope not! sorry hershey, see ya!"
although his doesn't have that cool toy pocket (maybe copper needs a new kennel?) and oh oh oh i just noticed i have that rope toy in that picture! cool! well anyways we get locked...er zipped up and we sleep all night long in there. when we are at our people's homes we sleep in bed under the covers all cuddled up. but for some reason we get locked together away from the love and attention of our moms and dads whenever we are staying at each other's houses. i think it might have to do with the fact that we chase after nixon at his slightest movement and i guess they don't want us chasing him around in the middle of the night. whatever.
oh, copper keeps getting in trouble for stealing miriam's toys and chewing on them. so far he hasn't done any destruction, he just won't learn i guess. i mean they are in the floor on her play mat just waiting for someone or somepuppy to play with them!
oh and i did the horka on mom and dad's bed this morning after they got up. i don't know why i did it but it definately was a HULA move since mom is now washing ALL of the bedding from the comforter to the sheets and even the mattress pad. i rock!
these guys reminded us of the dachsies
we kinda met another long-haired dachsie
but we did have a good nap on mom!
BUT WE WILL HAVE FUN!!!! (hatless fun)
last night my dad was coming home from the store and he saw a dog almost get hit by a car. he felt that something wasn't right about this dog wandering down the street. so he stopped and was going to check her collar and call her owners. well she didn't have a tag on her collar! so he brought her home. he said he wasn't quite sure what he was going to do with her when he got home, he just knew he couldn't leave her out there. (oh, and by the way i never got to meet ellie, i hardly knew any of this was going on, i just knew mom and dad smelled like another dog!) well since the humane society and the animal shelter are closed at night and on the weekends, they decided to keep her over night cause dad found her at about 8. well they sat outside with her on my tie-out and petted her and talked over what to do. they didn't want to chance that she was a dog that roamed around and to take her back to where he found her. they didn't want to keep her in the house cause they didn't know if she was an outside dog or and inside dog or if she had fleas, would chew up stuff and plus my kennel was too small for her. so they took some big stuff out of the shed and ran a light in there and made a bed for her with towels and gave her food and water.
they knew someone loved her cause she had a really pretty collar and she was soooooo friendly! so this morning they got up reeeeallly early and took pictures of her and made a found dog poster. and so they put her on my tie-out in the back yard where there was some shade and nice grass. well they went to go put posters up but not 3 houses down they saw a lost dog poster! it was for her! her name is ellie and there was a reward. well mom and dad didn't want the reward but ellie's dad insisted. mom called and said "we have ellie!!" and ellie's mom was soooooo happy, ellie only lived to streets over! the dad said it was the first time she ever got out of the yard! and that she would have a tag TODAY! so its a happy ending!!! and a lesson to always have a tag with your information or a chip like nixon has!!
so who are your secretaries? and what do they look like? do you dare? you know your curious about everyone else?!
this is the big bed i sleep in at night (and during the day)
this is me and copper attacking nixon on the big bed
this is my dad's desk, you can usually find nixon up here
ok, this is my kitchen bed and as you can see nixon is in it! sometimes he steals it from me and i have to take it back! but i let him have it this time because i wanted the sun spot and mom gave me a towel to lay on cause she felt sorry for me
i hope you enjoyed the tour of my house, i like it, its small like me and it has lots of sun spots!
its food just for dachshunds!!! how COOL! they also have food for labs, boxers, german shepherds, and yorkies! the foods are also good for breeds that are similar to each of these. my mom is going to email miss cindy (our vet) and ask her what she thinks. cause we all know its good to ask your vet about what to feed you. right now i have to eat "i'm on a diet prescription food" but as soon as i lose the weight (2 pounds!) i can eat regular food again. so maybe if miss cindy says its ok i can try this cool stuff! it says it has stuff for my back, cause us dachsies can have back troubles, and stuff for my skin, my skin is ok, but copper's is real itchy. so maybe this will help him! oh and since dachsies can get chunky after we are "fixed" it has stuff to help us not gain weight and put pressure on our backs!
on another note...copper and i are going to fin & feather today! its a pet store that is about 1 mile from my house! they sell all kinds of pet stuff including fish, birds, ferrets, hamsters (like fufu), snakes, lizards, and they even have puppies!!! don't worry the puppies are from very nice breeders and not puppy mills. in fact the store has a bunch of literature about puppy mills and why they are so bad bad bad! so this is a nice store to buy a puppy from. they usually have yorkies and small dogs. it is the best store to go and SMELL! so many animals to say hi to and next door is a vet and mom is going to weigh me and see if i lost any lbs on my diet so far. we also may go to petsmart! AND later in the week we will go to the MALL!! yes there is a mall here in richmond that you can take your dog to! its called stony point and its an outdoor mall and they have a three dog bakery there! they also have doggie watering stations and the stores that let dogs in (almost all of them, except the BIG stores and restaurants) have little signs in the windows with a dog on it so you know its ok. stores like gap, anthropologie, restoration hardware, brooks brothers, etc let dogs in (its a fancy mall with expensive stores) but our moms just like to walk around with us and go to the dog bakery! i love to go shopping!
in other news... i am on a DIET!!!! yeah i went to see miss cindy (copper's next door neighbor vet) on saturday in augusta. my mom had been thinking that i looked "chunky" lately and my dad said he thought i looked fine. well mom is RIGHT miss cindy said i need to lose 2 pounds!! well when you only weight 11.5 pounds thats A LOT!! so i am on this new food...
its prescription doggie food for overweight management!!!! i can't believe i am overweight!
and oh, i had a HORRIBLE experience at the vet! they took me away from my mom (cause i am super protective of my mom, cause she's pregnant and all, and miss cindy knew it would be best to do all the shots, etc without mom there) well i did some embarrassingly stinky stuff (use your imagination) and they had to use a muzzle on me! don't worry miss cindy is the best vet ever and she knew that a loose muzzle would make me kinda calm down, cause i wanted to nip and bite them! i'm such a bad boy aren't i?! and on top of everything nixon was PERFECT at the vet!! we go at the same time for our yearly stuff, just easier that way i guess. well he is the perfect weight AND he didn't whine or complain the ENTIRE time!!! he's such a goodie goodie! he makes me sick! so needless to say I embarrased mom and nixon made her proud...whatever...
oh AND i didn't get anything at the baby shower! apparently babies need stuffed animals too!
Second, be sure that the object you spied was indeed a baby by employing classic sniffing techniques. If you smell baby powder and the wonderful aroma of wet diapers this is indeed a baby.
Next you will need to flatten the baby before actually beginning the hugging process. **Note: The added slobber should help in future steps by making the "paw slide" easier.???
The "paw slide" - Simply slide paws around baby and prepare for possible close-up.
Finally, if a camera is present, you will need to execute the difficult and patented "hug, smile, and lean" so as to achieve the best photo quality.
If you can successfully execute this cute move your people will definately love you and give you lots of treats, and then probably ask you to do it over and over again to show all their friends!
